How it Works

  • Staking Period: You can Stake Plazm for any duration between 1 and 77 days. You’ll pay a 5% fee on the amount of Plazm you stake. This fee is paid in ESHARES or ETH (your choice), and it’s calculated based on what it would cost to create an equivalent amount of Plazm at that moment. Once staked, your Plazm tokens are locked until you either complete the full period or decide to end the stake early (early end is possible with conditions; see Early End Stake).

  • Share Calculation: When you stake, the system grants you Shares according to the formula: Shares = (Plazm Staked) * (Length of Stake)². This means longer stakes are rewarded quadratically – for example, doubling the stake length more than doubles your shares (length is squared). A larger share count increases your portion of the daily rewards.

  • Example: Suppose on Day 1, creating 1,000 Plazm (with 10,000 Power for 77 days) would require 200 ESHARES. Staking 1,000 Plazm on Day 1 would therefore cost a 5% fee of that equivalent, which is 10 ESHARES. In other words, instead of spending 200 ESHARES to create new tokens, you use the 1,000 Plazm you have, stake them, and pay 10 ESHARES. Both approaches would earn from the pool, but in this scenario staking cost you only 5% of what creating the same amount would.
